Holiday entitlement

Holiday entitlement with my employers are somewhat different to my entitlement back in England. Firstly, employees only get 13 days holiday annually, and secondly, it has to be accrued per pay cheque.

I get paid twice a month, and accrue 4.33 hours per pay cheque. So I get just over a day’s holiday each month, because 8 hours is equivalent to a working day. In order for me to take a one week holiday, I’d have to save my my holidays for 5 months.

I knew holiday entitlement was going to be lower than the UK, just didn’t expect it to be this low. I had 21 days back in the UK before I moved here. 13 days is hardly enough time to get a decent holiday in.
