Now that my mum’s visiting LA for the first time, this has given me a good excuse to check out LA.
Downtown LA was our first stop starting at China town. Its fairly large compared to the one in London. Can’t say by how much, but it’s big. It’s also the oldest Chinatown in LA, and there are three more Chinatowns in LA county too, near San Gabriel area. Overhearing staff at most of these places, I was glad to know they spoke Cantonese rather than Mandarin. We had lunch at a chinese restaurant nearby, and food was great.
We then set off to Olvera Street which is the oldest part of Downtown LA and Los Angeles was founded on a site southwest of here back in 1781.
